Zagarri Engineering’s story begins in 1986, when wireless communication looked very different than it does today. Cellular technology was just beginning to take hold, networks were in their infancy, and the possibilities of a connected world were only starting to emerge. Founder Vince Zagarri entered the wireless industry during those early years and has spent decades growing alongside the technology, gaining hands-on experience through nearly every major evolution in modern wireless communications.
It Started With The First Cellular Networks
When Vince began his career, the St. Louis cellular network served fewer than 2,000 customers. Mobile phones were primarily brick phones and permanently installed car phones, and building a cellular network required solving challenges that had never existed before.
What began as an opportunity in a brand-new industry quickly became a career centered on RF engineering, system performance, and solving complex wireless communication challenges.
Decades Of Change. Continuous Experience.
As wireless technology advanced, so did Vince’s experience. His career continued through major transitions within the telecommunications industry, including CyberTel, Ameritech, and the generations of technology that followed.
Each new advancement brought different engineering requirements, new applications, and increasingly complex expectations for wireless connectivity.
From the earliest cellular systems to today’s sophisticated in-building wireless, public safety communications, DAS, CBRS, and private network technologies, that progression created a depth of practical knowledge that can only come from decades in the field.
